Cancer Drugs for Maggie

Here are the drugs attacking Maggie’s cancer along with a description of my understanding of how they work:

CPT-11

How Often:                  The goal is roughly every 21 days

Administered:               Intravenously over 90 minutes at The Spa

What does it do:           It disrupts cell division by gumming up the works during a key part of that process

Xeloda

How Often:                  Every day, morning and evening

Administered:               Orally, these are pills.  She takes 3 pills each time

What does it do:           I have no idea (yet!)

Avastin

How Often:                  Every 14 days

Administered:               Intravenously over 90 minutes at The Spa

What does it do:           It prevents the growth of new blood vessels
